upheld the company’s (apple) right to block other stores from offering apps for its iPhone

.

she rejected Epic's allegations that Apple ran a monopoly.

.

Epic cast that highly lucrative fee as a price-gouging tactic that wouldn’t be possible if competing stores were allowed to offer iPhone apps

.

The judge didn’t brand Apple as a monopolist or require it to allow competing stores to offer apps for iPhones, iPads and iPods

@Iron Lad while Epic has minority share holders like Tencent, all the epic vs Apple drama started after Sony's backing of Epic games.

Clearly people can play the same games on any number of other devices. So not really a monopoly.

Also, if you buy games for your Switch, Nintendo gets a cut and you can't buy from anybody except Nintendo.

Apple invented the smartphone which has dramatically changed the way ordinary people live--and mostly in positive ways.

Epic make games and are crying that they don't like the shop the sells their games.

Hilarious, but Epic is backed by Tencent and Tencent is heavily hit recently so I guess this result makes sense.
