The moves risk opening up a new front in the already fraught relationship between the EU and President Donald Trump, who has taken a hard line against the bloc's tech laws and warned he will hit back against any fines on American firms.

Once again, Donald Trump is on the side of the big corporations and the rich elites. And his rabid followers keep thinking he's actually on their side. Astounding levels of delusion.

EU busy trying to destroy US exceptionalism and $profit in the process thru massive taxes and fines. With jealous friends like the EU, US sure doesn't need any enemies!

EU trying to apply common sense and save people and businesses money. Make systems able to work together rather than be forced by companies to buy multiple systems to access the capabilities they need or want due to incompatibilities designed on purpose.

The world depends on solid reliable communications, and that means things must be able to work on whatever platform you choose to buy. And providing full disclosure on what is available, rather than just your own over priced options.

Companies seem to forget that communities want to make things efficient, better, flexible and compatible.

"Waah...competition will destroy innovation and be worse for consumers"

The words of ever oligopoly ever.

Oligopolies are little better than monopolies - they benefit their owners more than customers, lead to higher prices, create barriers to entry and stifle competition.

Isn't the moves in the US to breakup Google even more of a threat?
