Mr. Trump made Twitter far more popular and important from 2016 onward than it was going to be. He turned it into the place where the national conversation in America was taking place. While the Twitter steps may have some short-term effect on the American election, I think adding their opinions to others' comments will kill the golden goose and many users will go elsewhere. Twitter will be the MySpace of the next decade.
