New structure? New company can speed that transformation faster.

MIT announced a breakthrough in geothermal drilling that uses microwaves instead of steel bits, making 10-mile deep holes feasible. At this depth geothermal power is possible everywhere. The holes can be drilled at existing coal or gas plants, no need to acquire new real estate. The startup, Quaise Energy, thinks the technology will provide cheap 24-hour electrical power with no adverse environmental effects. What a great way to power EVs.
