Good for the US astronauts..
Good for the Japanese astronaut..
And good for the Russian cosmonaut, like it or not..

SpaceX rocks. The way their booster lands itself upright on a barge in the middle of the ocean is nothing short of miraculous.

Agreed, incredible feat, and I am genuinely glad to see Russians involved on a continuing basis. Fingers crossed for humanity right now.

Space exploration transcends politics. Always has. When I was a kid, I saw live on TV the historic Apollo-Soyuz linkup. The mission was designed to see if rescue missions in space could be achieved. The two craft linked, and the astronauts and cosmonauts shook hands and conversed for a while. Everything went cool.
The scientific data from the exploratory robots' missions is shared by all mankind. From lunar exploration to Voyager missions to the outer planets to JAXA's recent get-samples-and-return mission from the asteroid Ryuku, we all benefit from it and share the knowledge.
