robophobia aka a perfectly natural fear of something likely to malfunction and or to replace your job in one way or another. If this is progress im not impressed.

The Great Science Fiction writers are future visionaries, and indeed some are Real Scientists in their own Right. Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Ben Bova, Brian Aldiss, Fred Hoyle, the list goes on.

One thing that stands out about their works, is that it crosses all genre's and involves plausible situations, which often come to reality. They make you think.. what if ?

So, back to Robotics... and AI... What if we eventually develop a Robot that becomes self-conscious... will it commit Suicide, will it attempt to kill us all, or will it try and save us ? Lots of questions - perhaps, it's time to read a few more Sci-Fi books for potential answers and inspiration.
