Seems like a lot of technology firms where getting a bit ahead of themselves when the money printers were set to maximum print.

Notice none of the leftists spend any time criticizing Facebook or discussing their stock being down 64% this year.

Why do you think the "leftists" would be specially interested on doing this?

Strange question--assuming things that were not mentioned.

Strange question--assuming things that were not mentioned.

The quoted text explicitly question why this is not done, meaning it is assuming this would be expected, that is the only invalid assumption here. Else the lack of criticism would be justified in the same thing that makes the group not criticize endless other things, lack of any special interest on the topic.

Introducing John Carmack as a Frustrated virtual reality pioneer almost made me spill my coffee. Might mostly be because it's my field of work but feels like his name should be good enough.

Why would I criticize something I’m happy about?

Facebook (or, Meta) is a trash company that sells data from its users, and actively and openly manipulated them. Zuckerberg is a weirdo haunted puppet who stole the idea of a social network, got lucky, bought out the competition (Whatsapp, Insta, etc.) and the first time he actually had to think of something, he invented Second Life except worse and with PS2 era graphics.

Here’s a little hint: the billionaires of the world are not smarter than you. They are privileged kids who got lucky.

Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates. All fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.

But none of them know what work is. None of them are better than you.

Rise up.

Socialism forever.

Carmack was Oculus' chief technology officer - in control of the tech. At Meta he was a part time executive consultant. One voice amongst many, with limited control. Few in tech would enjoy such a transition. I guess he stuck at it to get the Quest 2 out. This happens a lot in tech mergers and takeovers, although it doesn't usually make the mainstream news.

Their right to free speech suddenly becomes less important.

The quoted text explicitly question why this is not done, meaning it is assuming this would be expected, that is the only invalid assumption here. No, there are no assumptions other than what you strung together,

No, there are no assumptions other than what you strung together,

As other comments clearly pointed out, assuming the "leftists" would be interested in critcizing the issue is the assumption that is unjustified, you just trying to ignore it do not make it disappear. One single company going bankrupt do nothing to the people right to free speech, so you include another invalid assumption as well.
