Seems more like the corporate world, rather than the gaming industry.

DEI has destroyed the gaming experience and companies are realizing this. Hopefully BioWare leaned from their mistake with their latest failure.

I've been playing video games for decades and I mean this when say it: "gamers" are some of the worst people on this Earth. Let's not forget that you can pretty much trace the birth of the alt-right/incel/MAGA movement back to GamerGate. I mean that in the worst way possible, of course.

That being said, I don't think the games industry is a more hostile working environment for women than, for example, the construction, automobile, engineering or hospitality industries, so there's no real reason to single it out.

"I myself have been the victim of sexism from an employee who had trouble taking orders from a woman," said Emma Delage, 35, head of independent game studio Camelia in southern French city Montpellier.

This statement make ls me wonder if she actually knows or understands the industry and the people in this industry?

I hate to break the news to her but in the gaming, game programming, general programming, IT developers, etc... it is very well known those doing these things are not very receptive to taking any kind of orders or criticism and it doesn't matter if the person giving the orders or criticism is a man or a woman.

I know plenty working in this and similar industries and this "I know better, I will do it my way" has been going on probably since the beginning.

A family member in Montreal a male has been in the industry for decades and in a management position, and he is constantly complaining about team members disrespect, ignoring orders, doing it "their way" and this is basically the way things have been for decades.

Programmers and developers for some reason seem to always think they have a better idea or way, whether it is gaming or banking, the same thing goes on.

Decades of firing and rehiring a few weeks later by some of the biggest companies from OS makers to gaming didn't help the situation or attitude of the workers.

"I have experienced circumstances of harassment, circumstances of disrespect, belittling, and even to the point of... getting shut down,"

That's called criticism and if given between men helps improve the product. Toxic positivity helps no one and creates flops like Star Wars Outlaws, Avowed, or Veilguard.

Criticism is healthy.

The funny thing is that they actually never show you the numbers of males suffering the same thing too in the same working environment. It's pretty hostile and brutal for us too you know. And you would be amaze how much higher those numbers are but never got any headlight because males suffering does not catch attention compare to females.

As soon as they were women put into higher positions, the economy of gaming crashed. One has to wonder the reason.

There is no more harassment then aany other industry.

You need to be more selfcentric in that universe where coding and creativity is special, as forst thing is to like staying hours in front of a screen each day.
