Driving is the last refuge of the individual.

No checking emails, no answering phones from work, being in control of your own destiny.

If you get an autonomous car you won't be relaxing on the way to work, you'll be answering emails and typing up reports.

Bet on it.

And another thing, the cars won't answer to the owner, they'll all be linked to a central computer that will control their destination, and the authorities will have override control.

Meaning that if the authorities will want to speak with you they'll access the car remotely, lock the doors and instruct the car to take you to the nearest police station.

We're falling into a trap folks, all in the name of "convenience" and "safety".
