I'm sure Google glass will one day be looked back at as an idea ahead of it's time.

It's a question in search of an answer.

@Craig: Absolutely. Just a decade or so more and the parts will be significantly smaller and more efficient. As soon as it becomes less "visible" and more like a regular pair of glasses, people will buy into it.
More importantly, Apple should take notes from 90s Video game consoles, like Sega Saturn.
In this day and age, with any software platform or game it is critical that there be a lot of room for modifications and user created content. Games like Minecraft or the Elderscrolls series continue to be immensely popular today simlpy because of user created content. Same deal with Sony adding streaming video to PS3.

Agree Google glass will improve with newer tech, also think it will be mostly used in industry to look up diagrams during repair work, etc.
As for Apple Wozniak said that the IPhone 6 Plus is 3yrs too late, ditto for smartwarches.
Also like the new Galaxy Note Edge wonder if Apple will introduce a similar feature in the next model.

The idea has been there since the 70s. The realization by Google is not good, that's why it hasn't caught on.

I'm inclined to agree. I tried one a few months back, and I wasn't particularly impressed.
