Google is but a shell of its former self, like other USA giants. Google should have been at the leading edge of AI having started first and pioneered much of the techniques for leveraging massively parallel GPU computing to train AI models. But ... it's way behind and rather irrelevant having put its new AI search behind a paywall, which is very UN-google like given all other google services are free or open sourced.

Unfortunately Google is following in the footsteps of other US giants who are now surviving on their former reputation. The list is long IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe (sigh...can't compete with free opensource so they forced 'loyal' users onto subscription), they loose their charismactic leaders and suddenly it's mediocre city ripping people off using their market power rather than innovation.
