"Singularity" in the corporate office setting in Japan will be different. Itwill just make people even busier and they will be given even more meaningless tasks to do. There will be a lot more *writing" and "filing" of useless reports checked character by character with the machines, and then rechecked with a human boss, reports that nobody apart from the machines will even read.

The Singularity is near. AI hype aside governments and the current socioeconomic system are not ready for masses of white collar jobs being made irrelevant.

Theoretically white collar jobs can become irrelevant with the current rate of advancement, but I doubt that will happen for at least a decade or possible longer. We will likely use this program as a tool rather than have it do all our work automatically in the near future. It'll definitely help shorten working hours as productivity will likely sky rocket because you will no longer need to spend hours on a single task. But who knows, companies may just come up with bs work and still force you to stay for the 8 hours. I know Japanese companies will be hesitant to let their employees leave before 8pm.

Absolutely yes. Humanity already doing mostly BS work 8 h/day for many decades. It will never change.

Don’t worry too much for now. Nothing is near hear, especially not singularity. Those are still incapable test versions with limited input and output. Although impressive at a first glance, admitted when seeing this technology the first time, they are still very erroneous. If you give them something to do that’s not only a chat or search, then you’ll see, they are of no use on a professional level, often giving several different, contradicting or completely false outputs when putting the same question etc.

I’ve been using Chatgpt to participate in meaningless remote corporate indoctrination meetings. It’s great, it offers perfectly palatable answers instantly And I can concentrate on my coffee.

Media reports said the overnight success of ChatGPT was designated a "code red" threat at Google with founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page -- who left several years ago -- pulled back in to brainstorm ideas and fast-track a response.
