HOME'S real estate portal offers English and Chinese language support

NEXT Co Ltd, the administrator of HOME'S, which is one of Japan's largest real estate and housing information portal websites, has commenced English and Chinese language support (covering simplified and traditional Chinese) as part of the HOME'S property information retrieval service.

As Japan's first complete real estate information portal website to trial English and Chinese language support, it is now possible to browse property information for the 2.66 million properties nationwide that are published on the HOME'S website in each of these languages.

These foreign language websites cover features such as property information searches, browsing and inquiries. Property types include residential rental property (condominiums, apartment houses), property for sale (residential used condominiums, investment property). Features provided include search/browse property information and property e-mail inquiries.

The URLs for the two sites are: http://www.homes.co.jp/lang/en/ and http://www.homes.co.jp/lang/cn/.

Almost all apartments will rent to foreigners

This is just not true. I've been turned down for more than half a dozen apartments, and that's with my company sponsoring me. In one case, the real estate agent was my boss's brother in law.

Does the site have a policy that all places listed on it have to be "gaijin OK"? Because what's the point of finding a place you want to live in, just to be told, "sorry, the landlord doesn't want to rent to foreigners"?

Almost all apartments will rent to foreigners, it's sometimes individual homes that are a problem. I would assume this site has verified all are available for foreigners. It shows if inquiries are possible in English or Japanese only, too.
