Ban microsoft, apple, Google, and other American companies, if you want. Heck, have an ally arrest bill Gates or his chief finance officer (CFO) and hold him there until you can do prisoner exchange with Huawei's imprisoned CFO in Canada.

Cannot wait until my Huawei phone contract is done. It is a lemon and garbage. I hate it. Back to a real phone...an iPhone for the next one.

But Huawei supplies the technologies that the Chinese government uses to track people in China using video cameras and AI face recognition
They're a master of violating people's privacy

P30Lite.. Less than a third of the price of an iPhone, better camera and screen doesn’t shatter when you drop it on a pillow from 20cm! :)
Sorry Apple fanboys..... never going back!

We have Huawei phones and they are pretty good. The p30 lite has an Iphone X type screen, except the notch is even smaller. The cost is about 1/3 of an iPhone and you can expand the storage with an SD card.
Apparently the notebook computers they make (Matebook Pro) are also very very good. They are top or near-top ranked on all the review sites.

You folks don't seem to understand, the key part of the whole thing was quite clear by this statement:
"Chinese law requires individuals and organisations to assist and cooperate with national intelligence efforts"
No matter what Huawei says about customer privacy and security, they are REQUIRED by law to assist the Chinese government in their spying when told to

Is it any different in the USA? I keep reading of "secret court orders". This from 2013:

You have a choice with phones:
A) US spies on you
B) China spies on you
C) no one spies...ha ha just kidding. Only A or B.
