Funny that if you are not using specialist software or devices then you are not anonymous.

Anonymity is just a cloak for people to be absolute b**s to one another. Just look at the comments section on almost every Youtube video. All these arguments and hateful comments. All courtesy of anonymity. That's why my username on many sites is just my name. I have nothing to hide, and I don't abuse people, so I don't need to hide my identity. Anonymity should be illegal. Everyone should be accountable for whatever cyber bullying and trolling they do.

YouTube isn't true anonymity, it's pseudo-anonymity. "Anonymous" means no name and YouTube puts the name right above the comment.

If you have true anonymity, there is no name to attribute to each comment, so generally you get less jerks, because there is less to achieve by being a jerk.

Of course you still get some trolls...

The raison d'etre for all these (a)social networks is that people have nothing better to do.

Good for you. But it's your personal choice to give up freedom in favor of security, don't impose your opinion on the lives of others. I take trolling any day over fascism.

So you're telling me that PresslikeforFarts is a real name? Because I've seen that on Youtube. An alias still provides anonymity. It's still a cloak for trolls to hide behind.

I'm not. I'm sharing my opinion in a comment. I'm not forcing anyone to copy me, or even suggesting that they should. I'm not putting a gun to anyone's head and telling them to use only their actual name or I'll shoot them. You do what you want to do, and I'll do what I want to do. When I threaten you into using your identity, then you can call me fascist. Until then, call me Fox.
