Ah so but how soon will today's prize become tomorrow's sodai gomi. (garbage)? I may get a new one, the hard drive is too small on my model 3. a symptom of have to have it NOW! The phones will be no big deal in a few weeks. Then all of the phone otaku will be speculating on the model 6.

And what do you want? Technology advancement to stop in 2012? Better return to your cave then. Why are even using a computer if you have this retarded sense?

I wonder how much longer this mania is going to last...

As far as I know, there's nothing special about this new phone. It's all just hype.

I heard the apple maps is really bad with lots of bugs. Just a warning to any updating there current iphones to IOS6 ... you will ahve to use browser based google maps as there is now no google maps app.

In Japan, NTT-DoCoMo charges an additional US$60 for unlimited data plan. AU has about US$50. Softbank is US$45 just for iPhone model.

Most of the Japanese and Gaijin who own iPhone since five years ago chose iPhone over other models not PRIMARILY because it is APPLE because of of the 15 to 25% cheaper than the two bigger players.

I neither love nor hate them, said I am typing this from an old iMac and also got a Windows Netbook and Linux PC.

Yodobashi today was rather empty with the iPhone 5 being for sale but I got there after the store opening. Needed to buy a holder and Micro-SD card for my Xperia phone.

Apple, love them or hate them, you have to admit their marketing machine does a great job.

Anyone who pre-ordered it last weekend got a call from Softbank to pick it up today?

Oh my god! I can not wait to stand in line for 6 or 7 days to finally get my hot little hands on the brand new I Phone 5! Yeah, right!

The next big thing is already here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nf5-Prx19ZM

Brilliant ad. Wont convince many Apple die-hards, but perhaps a side by side video showing 2 people following maps directions might... Could show the Apple user being directed to drive straight into a river etc

Long lines on release day in Japan? Sorry, I didn't see any at Omotesando Softbank. The long lines have been one week ago when pre-ordering took place!
