Should it be any surprise the two companies mentioned are both foreign companies? Dog forbid they should apply this same investigation to all the black companies in Japan using price fixing and illegal working conditions. That would be way too much work. It’s easier just to go after two foreign companies to shift the focus.

Japan's anti-trust authorities

Now thats an oxymoron if I ever saw one, except when investigating foreign owned companies. Have they ever raided a Japanese owned company in Japan?

More proof of Japan’s outrageous protectionist measures. It allows its own companies to do ALL the things it is now investigating the tech giants for. The govt turns a blind eye on companies here price gouging and other illegal activities, and crushing competition, but suddenly they’re concerned about it?

I love Amazon Japan. Anyone ever tried to order something from Rakuten? My eyes start bleeding from the terrible layout of the pages and how packed the information is.
