The fact that the Switch was released in 2017 with little to no innovation since (switch lite and LED only) could also explain it. Lack of new exciting games too, where are you Metroid Prime??

Is obvious video games companies will see a lower profit earning compare to the previous years when the pandemic was still going strong. Everyone was stuck inside with nothing else to do except playing games. Even my whole family got into games like Animal Crossing, Mario etc. Now with the world opening again, most of us are returning to our previous daily routine. And others who have free time rather go out or travel. All these tech companies should have predicted this outcome when the world open up again. Profits doesn't just keep rising without ever stopping. What goes up must eventually comes down.
