So far, it’s more looking like a scaling up attempt, combined with the try and error method. The question is, if there’s not only a much higher speed but also some new fundamental quality change involved. In other words, if it doesn’t work already now, with lots of available supercomputers, how and why do they expect newly possible, better or other results with their quantum computing? Anyway, as a little test balloon, why not.
