Virtual Market organized by HIKKY is the world’s largest VR event held on a metaverse platform. This year, for the first time, Yaizu in Shizuoka Prefecture will be participating in event's “Virtual Market 2022 Summer" with a tuna filleting display show.

During the exhibition, “Para-riaru (a mash up of "parallel world" and "real world") Osaka” will have a booth in an airport section to display Yaizu’s PR video, introducing Furusato Nozei gift items (gifts in return for local municipality tax reduction) which are ranked among the top then in all of Japan, as well as many other booths to show all the great things the city has to offer.

Yaizu city is also especially known for Minami Tuna. Taking this opportunity, they are exhibiting the world’s first “virtual Tuna filleting show” using a large 3D model for the guests to learn about and enjoy the fishery tradition of Yaizu.

There will also be 3D models of negi toro, seared skipjack, canned tuna, and much more of their proud local and popular produce as a Furusato Nozei gifts. You can also make direct donations from the digital poster on the site, which is linked to their official nozei donation website.

Yai chan, the official character of Yaizu city will be welcoming the guests in 3D avatar form, too.

The event will run from August 13 to August 28. You can access event details and the special VR chatroom via the official event website.
