Or going into politics?

I thought he sold used high end sneakers at first. Can’t wait for the movie. The movie about Jobs was great. The movie about Zuckerburg will be even better.

This guy made cloud computing a thing with his direction leading to AWS.

Deservedly a rich man for his massive economic contributions.

And good for him to be focusing on his charities.

An economic and human hero, many times over.

Bezos to the world I quit, time to pimp the world, and make money as I sleep

My wish is to see Bezos living in a blue sheet tent on Skid Row in Los Angeles. A horrible man who epitomizes Vulture Capitalism!

Maybe then, Amazon workers will get bathroom breaks.

The pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for me if not I would continue to be a slave

for Bezos, not selling that much on my own site but making more profits compared to when

I was selling on Amazon, that took 15 percent of my sales loss or gain. Very greedy man, I take

him serious when he slashes the percentage AMZ takes from Sellers.

I don't see it that way. He achieved a lot, and I think many of us benefitted in some way, otherwise we wouldn't have bought his services and he wouldn't be rich.

One problem seems to be that in making big, popular changes, one becomes rich, whether one wants to or not. (Thinking of Gates, Jobs, et al.)

Is there an alternative? I'd like to think so, but I don't know what it might be. Freedom to innovate and move things along, but not to become disgustingly rich. If you have a solution, please let me know.

Politics? He would fit right in.

Amazon has to pay over 60 million it stole from employees (tips they were rightfully due)

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/02/amazon-to-pay-61point7-million-in-ftc-driver-tipping-settlement-.html

Also, abusive labor practices

https://www.truthdig.com/articles/inside-amazons-abusive-labor-practices/

Finally his newspaper (Washington Post) told us mail in voting is critical and some checks and balances were not important however for his employees who want to form a union in Alabama? No way he is worried about fraud.

Yes indeed Bezos would fit in well in Washington however I think it would be a step down if he is considering power as motive.

Very ominous. Somethings coming and he knows he wants to be out of the way when it does.

There is this guy who is the CEO of his own business and he said he slashed his own salary (or didn’t inflate it) so that he could pay all his employees a 70,000 dollar salary.

This same guy is also in favour of hiking the minimum wage.

He seems successful enough, and good for him - but his alternative is good for him at best. If everyone were paying 70,000 wages I doubt he’d find it so easy to attract good workers. Diversity in wages helps us all, as it signals to us what skills are in demand and what skills we should acquire. Blanket wages would stifle that incentive.

So I do think it is wrong to villainize other successful people such as Bezos. As a founder of one of the largest value firms in the world, it would take a harsh pundit indeed to suggest that he has not greatly grown the pie. And he surely gives more than his per capita share to charities.

To too many, “fairness” seems to have been redefined to mean “give me virtually all of your money because I think I know better how to dispose of it”. I’d rather leave it with the entrepreneurs for they do us a world of good.

Bezos changed the world, just like Gates and Jobs did. No denying he earned his fortune.

Just for me, Gates is the only one of the three who seems to actually be a decent human being through his charities and philanthropy work around the world. He never came off as a guy just in it for the money.

But I can’t deny, my life would be much more of a hassle without Amazon and the likes of which came after.
