admire his altruism...... but.... "clean and affordable"?

It's a plane made by a flying car company.

Japan is already behind China, the U.S,Dubai,Singapore and the UK in advancing VTOL technologies.
If only the lazy politicians would do some work for a change but most of them don’t have a clue…
Fighto!
Would love to get one of these self-flying cars in the next 5 years or so. The commute would be so easy and relaxing!

This car is a flop. Not going to be a winner.

That’s not a Delorean.
Kobe White Bar Owner
Named after Steve Joby!

so disappointed that we still don't have flying cars all over the place like in Back to the Future 2

Won't be happening. Not even allowed to fly a drone through the city here.
Been watching too much The Fifth Element, Mr Bevirt.

Rubbish won’t help with congestion at all. it’s only going to replace a helicopter and frankly who flies around Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya in a helicopter apart from the guy showing off how rich he is, Takasu clinic. The worst tv commercial for a clinic ever.

Cool.

Better not be seeing this in cities, especially with the recent increases in use of drone strikes! Is it better for the environment….not when you compare it against a very efficient Japanese public transport system. Is it more cost effective……not when it will likely cost an arm and a leg. A flying car is not a car, it’s a plane or helicopter! This better not get legalized as if it does, it will be through corrupt politicians and self interests of ANA and Toyota backers, and not for any reasons of real public need.

Hmmm, No thanks, I'll take Japan's railways for eveeeeer !!.. LOL !!..

Japan is only interested in technologies like Robotics, AI, block chain, etc. These technologies have one thing in common, they all can be used to exert control over others and they also lessen human to human interaction. Though I am extremely anti Robotics, ANTI AI, and Firmly against anything to exert control on populations however flying cars are technology not needed. Humanity should put money to better use in technologies that help the environment, create less waste, clean the oceans, and instead of putting our minds on cars that fly put more minds in technology that would help find cures for diseases and enhance the medical field.

That’s more a theoretical approach. If installed in numbers, they won’t even find enough pilots , maybe a few overaged part timers, and no obviously quite oversized parking lots in those urban areas. But if it is limited to only airports , then it’s just a normal conventional air taxi service only and as then all customers still need to commute to and from the far away airports , there won’t be much benefits in time, costs or under environmental considerations.

Does this look like a car to you? If so, you need to see an eye doctor.

A fantastic and mindboggling scheme!
If, however, reducing time for city dwellers and impact on the environment are motivations for such vehicles, there's another way to attain the same effects for the time being, in my mind. And that is to produce electric mini cars, only which are allowed by law to operate on city streets.
You know, no artifacts are accident-free. And city dwellers must live under hazard-prone skies constantly if e-VTOL aircraft fly over them day and night.

To a Scottish person, the idea of a 'flying jobby' does not appeal.

Until these vehicles are reliably self flying and sold to the public as motor cars are today, they will only ever have limited success.
kaimycahl
@Michael Machida Don't worry you will be in one soon!
This car is a flop. Not going to be a winner.

Meet George Jetson......

A "flying car" company that has no flying cars. The correct term would be that an "aircraft company" applies for Japan aircraft certification.
Unless it is certified to travel on the road networks as well as in the air, then it is not a "flying car".

Need to focus more research upon the anti-gravity concept.
