Great. One fewer cell carrier. That can ONLY be good for consumers and the fairness of prices. Just kidding. I'm here to tell you that you're going to get stiffed even more than you already were. "Can you hear me now?" eye roll

Every time they say a merger will benefit the consumers they're lying.

Every. Damned. Time.

Think Airlines.

I bought a fair amount of Sprint stock on speculation when the chatter of this merger began early last year. Glad I did. This has pushed it up about 25% thus far.

To be honest, I am not happy about this move. This will be great for the stocks that I have in both companies, but as a T-Mobile customer, I see this as a losing step.

While the new entity still won’t be able to surpass Verizon and AT&T, I have watch T-Mobile grow larger since voice stream and watch customer service nosedive.

I have been with T-Mobile since high school and when it was called Voice Stream. When I had issues, I was always confident that T-Mobile would take care of me. Now I have issues and unless I email John Legere himself, these issues don’t get fixed. Even then, it’s only partially fixed with lingering problems continuing.

@weasel

The good news about this for Sprint customers is that with T-Mobile all data roaming and text messaging overseas is complimentary with your T-Mobile plans. Phone calls back to the US are free if you are on Wi-Fi or $0.20 per minute when you are not on Wi-Fi.

I have been living in Japan with my T-Mobile phone and using it perfectly fine. I thought 512kb/s would be really slow, but it works perfectly fine for me. I can still watch youtube videos without a problem. I simply set a few netflix shows to download when I go to bed and I can watch them throughout the day.
