We certainly need more solar by default, distributed and farmed, but it is not a simple replacement. With cloud and nightfall, even with storage there will remain a requirement for traditional power generation. Apartment blocks have more usage than they have solar acreage. Once solar is widespread, some weather conditions could see quite substantial surge requirements for traditional, fallback power supplies. Storage cells will require mined resources and quakes will make recovery of distributed power generation a longer process. We may still need the ability to generate power by traditional means.

I welcome sustainable energy sources but how about simultaneously powering its employees with higher wages of at least ¥1200 an hour?

They should make every new home and business building solar powered. Had they started this 20 years ago when I first heard about the idea in Japan, we'd be a hell of a lot less dependent on oil, nuclear and coal by now.

Some large box stores in this neighborhood have covered their roofs with solar panels. Sounds good to me.
