If you own a bike, you try to take care of it so it will last long. If it is just sharing then who will take care of the maintenance? Expect those bikes last one season, then end up somewhere in a bike scrap yard, seats removed

Agreed, it can go wrong my hometown been littered with broken and/or abandoned rental bicycles.
