@Shinjuku No Yaju: IF you were smart, you'd checking the news and would know that there are three selected stores in Tokyo that would sell the watch directly. And you were forced to nothing, it was your own choice to buy the smartwatch right now instead of waiting it to arrive at Apple Stores. Or, IF you were smart...

They want people to order online because Apple knows no one will line up for it.

I make MORE than enough money to waste on an Apple Watch. ;)

There are alot of children's charities that could use that money.

I make more than enough to buy an Apple watch also, doesnt mean my intelligence is fooled into thinking that paying a premium price for a average product is justified

How do you determine what is justified, and what isn't? All that's really needed to justify the purchase is whether you want it, and if you aren't hurting someone by buying it. If you buy an Apple Watch and your family can't eat for a week, well then it's pretty hard to justify. But if you have the money, and it's something you want, then why is it not justified?

They say that the Edition will basically be "permanently sold out" as strong demand from China puts serious strain on the supply chain.

I think eventually the watch will do well, when the iPhone and iPad both were launched people said the same thing, I remember, people thought would would EVER buy a phone that has a media player and a camera attached to it? It's a waste and what if something goes wrong, then your entire machine is out of service. Yes, some people still want a separate pocket camera, but most nowadays just use their smartphone and with the iPad, it's a giant iPhone, who will use such a clunky device, virtually everyone has a tablet from Hospitals to Hollywood, investors and everyone else in between. The iwatch will eventually do well, I believe, but Apple is smart to release it online first to get an estimate on how many watches they need to make and backorder. I think Apple did indeed score another major hit DOWN the line. We just have to wait until the numbers come back to see.

btw, insulting my intelligence. but have no fear. I make MORE than enough money to waste on an Apple Watch. ;)

well I make more than enough to buy an Apple watch also, doesnt mean my intelligence is fooled into thinking that paying a premium price for a average product is justified. oh and I refuse to be another sheeple ;) I like to look at Mr Warren Buffet in times like these, 2nd richest man in the world (around $50 billion) lives a frugal lifestyle, He drives himself everywhere and picks his visitors up from the airport in person. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns more than 60 companies, yet he does not waste time or money flying to see the CEOs or holding needless meetings. He avoids cellphones and computers when possible. He avoids NAME BRANDS. He only buys what he needs and believes that ”keeping up with the Joneses” will wreck personal finances. He believes that everyone should avoid credit cards, but if you do have them, you should rarely use them. A cash lifestyle is best.

I read that it was at up-scale luxury shops in Ginza. Still I retract my rage for the time being, as it seems like only the sports model is being sold in-store. And well done, btw, insulting my intelligence. but have no fear. I make MORE than enough money to waste on an Apple Watch. ;)
