I can not believe the EU policies?!

They try to make all that good for their own people... In such way that everything is more expensive.

Too much protection from just about anything. Too much policies.

So we are protected - we can chose other browser for free but have to pay more in total for non IE machines - thanks!

lol, i hope EU's base businesses will just sue both MS and Mac. make them remove everything, so that people can be free to chose just about everything on their home computer. and we will see EU go back to use some thing like... DOS!

that should make them a lot happy with their freedom!

I'm going to let you all in on a little secret, you can actually download Window 7 Ultimate directly from Microsoft for free! Here's the deal, this free download is called, Windows 7 RC. The RC stands for Release Candidate. It's not the official version that will be released to the public in a couple of months. They're basically using us as Gunea pigs. But I've had it on my computer for a couple of days now, and it's great. Secondly, this RC version will expire June of next year, unless you buy the upgrade.

And here's the link for all those who want to try it out.

I run both XP Pro and Vista Ultimate and I have more problems with Vista, especially communicating with remote devices. Then they loaded Office 2007 on my work PC. Holy loss of work flow, Batman! I'm going to wait on Win7 for a bloody long time.

I went from Windows 98 to XP. How many new OSes can I skip before I really have to upgrade to the next OS?

Stick with XP for at least another year. You should be able to upgrade XP to Win7 once they have the bugs worked out.

I have a dual O/S on my computer, Vista is my main workhorse, and Win 7 Ultimate to play with. It works great with MS Flight Sim 2003, still have not installed Office 2007 on it yet. If you are going to install Win 7, you will need more than 10GB of HD space just for it.

^^^ that's the point of Windows7, the bugs have been being worked out since last year when they released the BETA.

I've been running on W7 since last December. It's absolutely awesome! I hated Vista with all it's bugs, but W7 works with EVERYTHING, even if their is an issue at first with older software not recognizing the newer W7 OS, you can simply right click on EVERY program and install or Run it as it would on an older version of windows. It's genius. All drivers from all older versions of Windows work with W7.

It's easily MS's best OS they have ever created.
