windows 7 beta is better than its counterpart. Windows trying to wean the general public from windows xp is the main problem of windows. Try installing windows 7 on a mere 512MB laptop and see what I mean. Its fast and stable.

neverknow2, as far as I am aware, this is a facility for comment and debate about the stories posted by JT. This story is about Windows 7, so I made a relevant comment about it, especially as I am a foreigner living in Japan with a Japanese wife. As a matter of fact I have asked Microsoft whether the MUIs will come as standard but they've been pretty cagey about it and no-one seems to know on the beta testing forum. More reason not to go windows.

Can't wait for this to tank... looks like at least 10 more years of steady work.

Will multi user interfaces be available in all options, so two or more users can log on with different languages, which is standard in OSX? I doubt it.

Why not ask them instead of complaining here?

Microsoft streamlines Windows 7 options by encouraging users to switch to Macs and Linux.

Apart from the options for developing countries, the rest sound much like what is available in Vista. Perhaps M could be more honest with options that include descriptions like - Home takes forever to boot up Basic or Starter runs very slowly in any country or how about Business can't run drivers or old software or how about Ultimate paid too much for nothing new. Not really catchy. Wonder if they will botch 7 up.

Notginger, that's what the MUI is for (Multilingual User Interface).

I expect if the global demand is there for it, it might be. Not sure it's in the top 10 wanted features though for an OS.
