Microsoft unveils Xbox Series X as console war heats up

The Xbox One did launch in 2013, but the more powerful version "Xbox One X" actually launched late 2017.

First ever time I've liked an Xbox's design. Minimalistic, industrial, and clean. Won't obviously fit under your TV but should look good next to it.

Eagerly waiting for the Sony PS5's announcement. Although I don't game nearly as much as I used to, it has become a habit of mine to check the new PlayStations' announcements.

You are right about the pre-owned game. But internet speeds will become irrelevant in a few years as data transfer technology improves. Think of how much faster the internet is now than 20 years ago. Now add another 10, 20 years.

Kinda a bit far out isn't it. One year. In the meantime just imagine your desktop pc is it - cause that is what it kind of looks like to me. Certainly won't fit under the tv.

We're actually already playing in the Google Stadia and MS Project xCloud game-streaming programmes.

The lags not that bad. For single-player games, it's fine as long as you don't expect above 1080p. For fast-paced multiplayer games, it's serviceable but good do better.

People can actually try these new technology out now, instead of just wondering.
