MotionPortrait, Inc announced Monday that the company's iPhone and iPad applications (apps) have surpassed a total of one million downloads. An "all iPhone apps $0.99" campaign will be held in celebration of this milestone and the company's exhibit at Macworld 2011, held Jan 26 through 29 in San Francisco.
All of MotionPortrait's paid apps (a total of 9 apps, regularly priced at $2.99 each) can be downloaded for only $0.99 each and 7 apps for FREE each during this campaign held through Jan 31.
MotionPortrait, based in Tokyo, has released a total of 16 apps for the iPhone and iPad based on its proprietary MotionPortrait technology which instantly converts a picture into 3D computer graphics and generates 3D animation. MotionPortrait apps continue to hold top ranking positions in the iPhone Entertainment apps category in Japan. ZombieBooth, one of the company's most popular apps with over 200,000 downloads, has ranked No.1 in the iPhone Entertainment apps category in Italy and Tunisia and continues to gain high recognition worldwide.
By exhibiting at Macworld 2011, MotionPortrait aims to extend the reach of its technology in the U.S. market, the home-base for the iPhone and iPad devices.

This isn't a milestone, 1 million is quite easy for anything in the top 10 apps.

I think this is a milestone for any company. A milestone means a major achievement and I would say the first million sales/downloads of a product is worthy of being called that.
It's nice to see a Japanese company doing well in the app market.
