Musk's chip in my brain? I think I will pass on that one.

Looks skeptically at smiling guy offering me brain implant.
Thinks for a moment.
Leans to the side to look behind the smiling guy offering me a brain implant, momentarily gets view of the smoldering wreckage of Twitter before smiling guy moves to block my view.
”Hard no.”

Does record engagement pay the bills? If 'likes' and 'retweets' can pay people's wages and whatnot, then record engagement is great. But as I understand, in this case, record engagement is not equating to record advertising. Twitter is a business. How long will Elon be willing to let it bleed him dry, so he can tweet with impunity?
Strangerland
It's questionable whether he did - he bought the company without doing due diligence after a Twitter spat, then spent six months trying to get out of that mistake.

Musk is taking direct inspiration from Iain M. Banks "The Culture" series which featured a "neural lace" which allowed direct communication between humans and ASI "Minds".
It will help human beings keep up with AI advances, and hopefully will have better success than some of Musk's recent ventures.

We can Remember it for you wholesale. So said Philip Dick.

How about putting a brain implant into Muskrat to control his greed and lust for power and influence? This man is sick.

Company with 13 billion dollars in debt after leveraged takeover + no revenue stream capable of paying that off = smoldering wreckage.
Strangerland
While I like the idea, and feel that some sort of direct neural integration is inevitable, I don't know that people are going to trust Musk's companies any time soon to put in brain implants.

Oh dear. How will the richest man in world history - and a genius at that - ever recover from that.
He must not have known of Twitter's financial situation before he bought it.
I hope someone tells him.
master
Right!? I mean he's the richest man in the world who created Tesla and Space X and we all know its just dumb luck!
master
so record engagement is now "smoldering wreckage"?
Well, I can see where opponents of free speech would think that, so....
