the Dems have less than 8 days to convict this man

You mean in Novembuary?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Interesting the Trump supporters here continue to defend Musk, even when he has said; Donald Trump should skip the 2024 election. He said Trump shouldn't run for office because a 'less divisive candidate would be better in 2024."

Because Musk is allowed to think and say what he wants, that's the beauty of the 1st amendment, he has his opinions and Trump has his, none should be blocked.

Trump will be a convicted felon on multiple counts by then, a mute point...

No, he won't, the Dems have less than 8 days to convict this man, and if they won't do it now, they will never do it.

Understated, but true Elon...and given Trump will be a convicted felon on multiple counts by then, a mute point...

Don't use Twitter and have no plans to use it either!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Carrying a sink! Never so anything more stupid, but then again very much something he would do...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I find it amusing that many conservatives feel that Twitter was a left leaning platform that mainly silenced conservative voices. It wasn't. I would imagine that that won't change.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

MumbaiRocks!Oct. 28 01:27 pm JST

Musk also changed his Twitter profile to refer to himself as “Chief Twit”

Yep.

The times my Mum called me a "stupid twit" back in the 60s'. It had a different meaning back then.....

1 of 2noun

ˈtwit

: a silly annoying person : fool

0 ( +0 / -0 )

He respected that they questioned their government, which they had the right to do, don't conflate the two.

Oh, come on.

as if the Dems cared about accepting the results of the 2016 election

No equivalence whatsoever. You know it.

--He was cut off for being a clear and present danger.

Like the Dems back in 2016

The Dems were not trying to overturn election results or encouraging people to storm the capitol. Let's not be absurd.

these Dems nowadays are way past that. Some other adjectives....

Go ahead. I'd like to hear them.

That goes for the left

Do you have any other debating method than this one? It's wearing pretty thin.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump turned out to be the biggest disrupter of American democracy. Think what would have happened if he had succeeded to overthrow the new president.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Trump praised the people who stormed the capital as "patriots" after he asked them to go home (and after they had ransacked the place and smeared feces on the walls). He then tweeted:

He didn't praise people for that. He respected that they questioned their government, which they had the right to do, don't conflate the two.

Given what had happened and given Trump's sway over a large swathe of the GOP faithful, that was further evidence that Trump did not intend to allow a peaceful transfer of power.

Hmmm...as if the Dems cared about accepting the results of the 2016 election, they never did and fought the guy every step of the way and used the Feds to try and get him out, but failed miserably. The left has no room to make any claim. At least now on Twitter, we can go back and forth without being spoonfed the liberal one-sided narrative.

So he wasn't cut off for expressing an opinion. He was cut off for being a clear and present danger.

Like the Dems back in 2016

I think we know who the real cancer is, and he ain't a so-called "liberal".

No, these Dems nowadays are way past that. Some other adjectives....

Sure. Nobody objects to that. From a public safety perspective, he just shouldn't be allowed to incite violence or spread disinformation.

That goes for the left and that won't happen anymore, so we both should be happy.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Trump also called for peace, he also told some of these protesters to go back home, Twitter was blocking that part, but now they won’t

Trump praised the people who stormed the capital as "patriots" after he asked them to go home (and after they had ransacked the place and smeared feces on the walls). He then tweeted:

"To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th."

Given what had happened and given Trump's sway over a large swathe of the GOP faithful, that was further evidence that Trump did not intend to allow a peaceful transfer of power.

So he wasn't cut off for expressing an opinion. He was cut off for being a clear and present danger.

--5 minutes ago you were gleefully posting about ‘liberals’ at twitter getting fired.

These particular liberals yes.

--That’s you balanced approach?

cutting out the cancer

I think we know who the real cancer is, and he ain't a so-called "liberal".

if Trump says something really nutty, then that’s different

When does he not?

if he wants to talk about any issues, he should be allowed to

Sure. Nobody objects to that. From a public safety perspective, he just shouldn't be allowed to incite violence or spread disinformation. But that'll be up to Twitter. It's a private company, after all. The 1st Amendment has nothing to do with this.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

First Amendment rights do not apply to any social network. Twitter is international.

it’s not going stop Trump from talking, and it’s not gonna stop Trump from going on, and if musk wants to allow him back on, as he constitutionally should come, it doesn’t matter, now, if Trump says something really nutty, then that’s different, but if he wants to talk about any issues, he should be allowed to and it doesn’t matter what kind of meltdown the left has, that’s not going to change, and if the left can’t deal with that, oh, well…

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

cutting out the cancer

Again. What evidence about 2020 will be shared on Twitter?

A lot

It’s a pointless goal

To you, not to millions of us

if you think Twitter is going to change anything at all.

Relax, I never said, nor implied that, but we can talk about it without any leftist repercussions.

There will be moderation.

Fair, as Musk stated

It will be the same as before.

No, that’s why Musk is firing 70% of his staff and allowing some of the most hated people by the left back on the platform

45 is not coming back

Musk said he was, Trump said so…I’m happy

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

There is no such thing as equality on a social network.

Yes, before there was not. That’s changed.

Different moderators react differently to posts.

Not like before, there was no effort in crushing the rights 1st amendment.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Nope.

I disagree.

Trump was kicked off Twitter for inciting violence.

Trump also called for peace, he also told some of these protesters to go back home, Twitter was blocking that part, but now they won’t

If you want me to cite his tweets, I'd be happy to.*

So can I.

If it was only about "challenging the left", he would have been ejected years earlier. Let's stick to the facts.

Believe me, they tried that for 4 years.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I am cheering for ALL SIDES to be heard and equally.

5 minutes ago you were gleefully posting about ‘liberals’ at twitter getting fired. That’s you balanced approach?

Again. What evidence about 2020 will be shared on Twitter?

None. Just rile up some more folks with more empty waffle about stolen elections.

It’s a pointless goal if you think Twitter is going to change anything at all.

There will be moderation. It will be the same as before.

45 is not coming back, if he does all he needs is enough rope again.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Don’t tell me, till the 70% of the liberals that are about to get fired at Twitter

But what about their voice? /s

Sounds like you are cheering the very thing you claim to be against.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

You think 2020 will be overturned by Twitter?

Again. It isn’t a ‘debate’. Try the courts.

Never said, nor thought or implied that. But we can now openly discuss all the irregularities openly and freely.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Trump does not allow the Ayatollah on his Truth Social, even with God willing.

The Ayatollah called for the death and destruction of Israel and America. So that would make sense.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Thank you, and now to your point, conservatives will be able to participate in that debate, and let’s see where the chips may fall, now they won’t be silenced into just accepting a one-sided liberal narrative. Now we shall see real democracy in action.

Don’t confuse ‘debate’ with having an opinion only.

Don’t tell me, till the 70% of the liberals that are about to get fired at Twitter

I don’t think Twitter is the key.

I think it’s a huge part

You think 2020 will be overturned by Twitter?

Trump does not allow the  Ayatollah on his Truth Social, even with God willing.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Like the Ayatollah, Trump will have an account, God willing. Musk needs to replace the 100% lost accounts that posted 90% of the Tweets.

That will be easy.

2020 is not a ‘debate’. It’s a fundamental issue at the absolute heart of American democracy.

Facts and evidence are necessary in a debate if you want any chance of winning it.

Thank you, and now to your point, conservatives will be able to participate in that debate, and let’s see where the chips may fall, now they won’t be silenced into just accepting a one-sided liberal narrative. Now we shall see real democracy in action.

I canceled my Twitter and FB accounts more than 10 years ago so I don't really care what happens to it.

But out of interest, how many Tweets a day do you average?

if you have to ask the question it means you can’t afford it.

Not a very bright answer.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

“Musk said he realizes Twitter "cannot become a free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”

He also said that he would reinstate Trump, so that’s fantastic.

He’s been doing that for the past 2 years.

But now he can do so on Twitter as well.

Since when did a social media site become so important? Can you only find the ‘truth’ in Twitter?

That’s not the point, the point is, why would Twitter silence the President of the United States, and not the ayatollah of Iran? Anyway, that’s all history now.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

will you pay for your Tweets next year?

Why would I not, if you have to ask the question it means you can’t afford it.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

2020 is not a ‘debate’. It’s a fundamental issue at the absolute heart of American democracy.

Facts and evidence are necessary in a debate if you want any chance of winning it. Don’t confuse ‘debate’ with having an opinion only.

I don’t think Twitter is the key. Pin your hopes elsewhere. Is there some new evidence about 2020 that can only be shared in a tweet?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Like the Ayatollah, Trump will have an account, God willing. Musk needs to replace the 100% lost accounts that posted 90% of the Tweets.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

“Musk said he realizes Twitter "cannot become a free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”

Again, Trump won’t be banned or other conservatives So if Trump wants to question 2020, he can now do that, we can all have a debate about it.

He’s been doing that for the past 2 years.

Since when did a social media site become so important? Can you only find the ‘truth’ in Twitter?

Maybe he should try the courts first. Oh, wait…yeah he did that. How many times was it?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

bass4funk

will you pay for your Tweets next year?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

That does not include you then?

Yes, it does.

You post frequently about other countries.

But I bleed American

Just because Musk become the owner of Twitter means anyone can post anything they care to. There will still be the TOS and the likes of Trump overstepping his mark will have those Tweets deleted.

Again, Trump won’t be banned or other conservatives So if Trump wants to question 2020, he can now do that, we can all have a debate about it.

From next year you will have to pay to post.

Ok, and?

That will hurt Trump who hates paying for even lawyers to defend him.

I'm a realist.

Lol, you say the funnies things.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Keep talking about the first amendment while not understanding how it works.

I do, that is why I’m a conservative.

I see.

Twitter is a business, first amendment does not apply

Musk thinks different.

Sounds like you’re jumping ahead of your self.

Yes or no, do you believe Twitter will be protected under the first amendement if musk buys it?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

bass4funk

Most Americans only care about America.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Who’s jumping ahead of themselves?

The left as we are now witnessing, they can’t stop the inevitable.

You know this how?

Here and Twitter.

45 was not removed from Twitter for ‘asking question’, neither was Kanye.

Whatever, if the Ayatollah can have a platform, so can they, and now they will.

Keep talking about the first amendment while not understanding how it works.

I do, that is why I’m a conservative.

Twitter is a business, first amendment does not apply

Musk thinks different.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

God did not write the constitution nor can they amend it.

Ok, and?

The last Trump post on Truth?

At the moment, Truth Social is available for U.S. users only.

Most Americans only care about America.

Trump’s Truth Social is the saddest site on the internet.

To you, but not to the people that are on it or follow it. Name calling won’t change that.

It bills itself as a home for competing viewpoints, but in reality, only one voice is heard — the ex-president’s.

As well as other conservatives that use it.

*   "Watching Trump’s activity last Tuesday, on the day pictures from the FBI’s raid of his Mar-a-Lago home were made public, felt like watching someone having a very public meltdown, with him plaintively asking at one point: *“Why are people so mean?"

Huh?

Private businesses like Twitter are not covered by the First Amendment and can delete any Tweet it cares to for whatever reason.

But now we won’t have to worry for being kicked off for challenging the left. Great day.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Private businesses like Twitter are not covered by the First Amendment and can delete any Tweet it cares to for whatever reason.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Again, you jumping way ahead of yourself as usual. Twitter won’t be blocking Trump or Cruz or any conservative anymore for asking questions, like the 2020 election or disputing J6 or making counter arguments to what Dems call facts.

Who’s jumping ahead of themselves?

You know this how?

45 was not removed from Twitter for ‘asking question’, neither was Kanye.

Keep talking about the first amendment while not understanding how it works.

It’s your ‘god given right’ to eat a Big Mac is you want but try walking into KFC and demanding they make one for you.

Twitter is a business, first amendment does not apply.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Twitter growth has fallen to -1.9%.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Again. You misunderstand how the first amendment works,

No, that’s something I never, ever misunderstand.

especially in relation to private businesses. Twitter’s right to remove tweets is not ‘god given’. It’s their right as a business, which all customers must agree to.

Again, you jumping way ahead of yourself as usual. Twitter won’t be blocking Trump or Cruz or any conservative anymore for asking questions, like the 2020 election or disputing J6 or making counter arguments to what Dems call facts. Now that side can’t stop conservatives from having a serious debate on any topic, especially the ones the Dems don’t like talking about

That will change.

This has been repeated again and again but apparently is yet to sink in.

As Musk demonstrated beautifully the other day.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Trump owns money on his Truth Social and failed to raise backing.

Twitter is free for the time being but Musk will add a paid-for section.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Does this mean that TrumpBook is no longer needed since Elon will allow Trump on Twitter again? It means the people involved with TrumpBook will get stiffed [even more]. There is no more need for TrumpBook.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

if liberals think so, Musk himself said, there will be big changes and I trust the new boss over the dark progressive overlords that thought they had a God given right to control the first amendment.

He can do that now on truth social.

As well.

Anyone can say what they want on Twitter now, as long as they don’t break the user agreement terms. That won’t change.

Yes, but now Trump and every other conservative that got kicked off for discussing the virus, the election, crime everything will be on the table, even Hunter Biden.

There are plenty of right wingers on Twitter, that follow the rules. Same as here.

You keep repeating yourself, we know, that has nothing to do with Twitter going after the person, I’m on Twitter, I say what I want, but I do know the rules, but I do also know that if I question anything the Dems don’t want, I’ll get hit and lit. Now I don’t have to worry.

The right wing have a tendency to believe in magical wands that will make everything better; walls, truth social, elections in 2 weeks.

Yeah, whatever, the deal will go through and all the anger and frustration from the left won’t change that.

The reality is little changes, just the goalposts move to another imagined future where all wrongs are righted.

If liberals think so, Musk himself said, there will be big changes and I trust the new boss over the dark progressive overlords that thought they had a God given right to control the first amendment.

Twitter will continue to have moderation and content against the terms of service removed. Much like here.

Not anywhere near like before, Trump can say what he wants without being kicked off because the left wants to silence him or any other conservative that just won’t happen anymore, so it will be a great day for freedom of speech for all.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

No doubt! Can't wait, now everyone will be able to say what they want
