He was met with slurs and insults.

Musk calls people pedos. Also he sexually harassed a CA on his jet. But he is pro Trump. Do the majority of his followers (and very small percentage of them can even afford a Tesla) think Musk can save the world? He just makes cars

Elon Musk said on Friday SpaceX cannot "indefinitely" fund the Starlink internet service in Ukraine and send it several thousands more terminals after a report suggested that his rocket company had asked the Pentagon to pay for the donations.

For a rugged individualist entrepreneur Musk sure likes those government subsidies.

Musk needs to go back and reread (?) his inspirational Iain Banks The Culture books to see a future culture needs more radical ideas, not more trolling for government largess and Twitter upvotes.

Musk, as a neutral outsider, presented a viable peace plan that would stop the fighting and save lives.

I have a viable peace plan too. Would you like to hear it?

Musk the billionaire can more than afford to pay it himself. $240 million for one year. Tax write-off.

I have a peace plan. Moscow Midget leaves.

The only viable peace plan is Russia withdraws 100%, otherwise the bully has won and will repeat the same actions later, either against Ukraine once more, or another country full of “Nazis”.

Musk was given $8 billion in government subsidies.

For what purpose?

He made a stupid suggestion that insulted Ukraine and its people. You never reward bullies or invaders. EVER!

He was met with slurs and insults.

All absolutely deserved.

It's understandable that he is insulted.

His ego got bruised. No big deal compared to the lives lost and Ukraine losing territory to the invaders.

Musk set this up to make profit for his company. Get them to rely on his comms system almost totally then hit them up (or the US government) to make massive profits or shut down the system. The man is a vulture trying to get even richer of the deaths of the innocent. Almost as bad as Putin.

Musk plays everything for his personal advantage.

With $50 + billion spent by the US government, why would a private company do what Starlink did? Lockheed? Raytheon?

What Mr. Musk did at the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine can be said to have saved the country. That he wants to be compensated for future services to Ukraine seems more than reasonable to me.

Mr. Musk should be thanked for his past services to Ukraine, and to humanity. Without his company, and what he did with it, Russia would have succeeded in rolling over Ukraine.

Forbes places his ownership more specifically in the 48 percent range. Despite his owning less than half of the company, Musk retains absolute control over SpaceX and its business operations. This is because Musk controls a whopping 78 percent of voting shares in the company, giving him significantly more leverage than any of SpaceX's other shareholders

I actually think Musk has good intentions. The guy is an autistic genius with a social IQ of Zero and constantly shoot’s himself in the foot because he doesn’t know when to shut up and can’t read the room.

He looks like an android in that shot. But, you know what? I think he would be proud of that. It's what he wants for all of us.

China just gave Tesla tax breaks after he suggested Taiwan should allow China to take over it's government.

Musk’s assets are not liquid, being tied up in his stocks. But, if he personally assumed the expenses and wanted to restate his personal tax returns for the past few years? I’m thinking this is possible. He just paid the highest ever amount of taxes from any individual in history. He would be due a refund proportional to taxes paid. Seems possible. Near in mind he only pays taxes when there is a taxable event. Although, you can carry forward losses to some extent. I’m not an accountant. It’s just my lay understanding.
