Nintendo signs global manufacturing agreement with Australian company Goldie

Nintendo of America Inc has issued Goldie, a 100% owned and controlled Australian company, with a global manufacturing agreement and a toy distribution license for the Americas, Europe, Middle East, South East Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

Nintendo manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi systems. Video gaming has had phenomenal growth and momentum, even in the recession, to become a lead category for many local and international retailers. Goldie is set to become the global lead on all new toys developed for the Super Mario franchise.

In addition to this appointment, Banpresto Japan, one of the largest toy manufacturers in Japan has confirmed and signed off on Goldie Marketing as their exclusive global distribution partner. This adds a potential catalogue of over 100 Nintendo toy and novelty items, including key chains, figurines and soft toys to the Goldie global toy range.

Australia may go from last to first, in terms of getting games locally. Good for them. We'll see how Zero Punctuation reacts if it works out
