Unfortunately as gamers and the market matured Nintendo never got out of the rut of creating 'toys'.

What happened to the DS-3D? I guess it wasn't so good. Did any JT readers get one? If so, what do you think of it?

It's hard to believe that Nintendo of Japan is struggling. Iwata-san is a great leader for the company and seems to be a good visionary. If someone had told me 10 or 20 years ago that Nintendo would be losing out on billions I might not had believed them but wow. I think one thing that might help a great deal is offering an online gaming community up to par with Playstation Network or XBox Live. They already offer many online services through to Wii anyways. A fresh new title that offers some of their staple household names combined with some fresh new characters and elements would help because I will admit that I haven't seen a new, top notch Nintendo game come out in a while. As a big fan of Nintendo I hope they can get their stuff together and I wish them the best of luck.

I played with one a few months ago. There's a 3D slider that let's you choose how 3D you want it (how "deep") which I found pretty interesting. However I could see myself getting headaches after prolonged use, and I'm guessing pre-3D games only work in 2D?

The 3DS was underwhelming, even as a Nintendo fan I couldn't get myself to buying one. I love Nintendo and I'm getting a Wii U. Maybe I'll get a 3DS after it gets a hardware revision a la DS Lite.
