Stuff this rubbish. This is the company that took Sofmap to court for selling used games and lost. The company that has the lowest eco standard tn the world. A company that treleases updated versions of its products every year or so and advertise heavily to influence the young.
Want real handheld gaming at an affordable price buy a Wiz, Gemei or Dingoo. Beats this DSi kiddy trash hands down.

You could say the same about most consumer electronics companies. It's always new, better and improved and you "must" have it before anyone else.
The 100 books collection is arriving 2 years later to NA.

daisan, maybe these days where consumers act like muppets. Nintendo are abad lot, i can back it up as well.
The company releases products years after they have been developed so they can mainipulate kids and their gullible parents. Watch for anew DS next year!! Bingo!!

I am going to play my DSlite until it literally falls to pieces. I don't want to pay another $100-something for something that does the same thing, it's just bigger. Sneaky, sneaky Nintendo! But yeah, they really are no different from the other electronics companies. How does that saying go-- five seconds after you buy a brand new computer they've already invented something better? Something like that, haha.

SNORE this is why Nintendo is losing out to the iphone, they shouldve come out with a next generation DS by now

Yeah. If it weren't for the old Family Computer/NES I wouldn't buy a PS3 now.
I wonder if the DSi XL NA version will have preinstalled software like in the JP version?

The i stands for i-copy-what-apple-does.

I bought a DSi a while back, and it sits mostly unused on my sofa. A nice enough system, but only about 50,000,000 RPGs and else nothing really interesting.
If you want depressing reading, study up on what Nintendo did in the US when it released the original NES.

The758, In the US Nintendo also took one ofhebest things ever for gamers, the Game Genie makers to court but lost.
Nintendo always come up wuth slight changes for the bgullible, look at how many variations there were to the Gameboy. If only TheWonderswan or Neo Geo Pocket if had more success.
Icewind007
I am actually more interested to know if this offers equal or more battery life for this extra screen space. I would certainly not mind having a bigger screen.
Court only involves greedy lawyers, all large companies have them. Also, about releasing updated stuff... that's what nearly all electronics companies do! Nintendo is no different. And if you do not think they offer quality gaming, you are the minority.

IceWind007, I am not in the minority of hardcore gamers who wouldn`t touch this "toy" with a bargepole.
Nintendo makes millions by small upgrades usually every 2 years, ecouraging kids to pester their parents. Nintendo has an awfull reputation against not only Sofmap but CEX, Game Genie and many other importers. The company is a cash cow that hates competition and is the worlds least eco friendly company.

What about the ipod with all it's different flavors and non-replaceable battery. Or the first version of the iphone with it's outdated technology that had people camping to get one, only to do the same some time later for the 3G version. And they're very active in courts too.

daisan, no gaming company or any other has a reputation as bad as Nintendo. The company decides to make systems that it knows wil need constant upgrades. The proof that this is a gimmick, is the fact that the home consoles do not constantly get upgraded. Nintendo are not like NEC or SNK when they made consoles, which were made by gamers. Nintendo is 100% profit based without caring about their customer base.

I try to avoid looking at bright little screens as much as possible - real life is much more interesting.
