One thing that can be said of sociopaths, is that many of them are very successful in business.
The be-all and end-all of the "Secrets of Business Success" books would be "Sociopathy and Access to Capital".
And Zuckerberg is no Hiro Protagonist no matter how much he is pushing the Metaverse.

Honestly, the only time I use VR is when I go to those DVD rental and private video booths.

If this is Zuck imagination I can understand why the new logo looks like a race track around his head.
The adj of "Meta" means: making or showing awareness of reference to oneself or to the activity that is taking place, especially in an ironic or comic way. Zuck is a joke!! So he is trying to do a complete metamorphosis of his company, such as what a butterfly goes through. Ok here's the four stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Incomplete metamorphosis varies in that it only involves three stages: egg, nymph and adult. So which one is Zuck?

It feels more like a desperate move to jump ahead of a time and get back into the stream. Facebook lost it to TikTok and they know it.

That’s only something for the kids. Adults will become sick after 20-30 minutes, with headaches, stomach aches, dizziness feelings and all such. In other words, of course maybe very nice and interesting to view at or to have, but most people cannot use it often, regularly, professionally. Every bet, you’ll first be excited and overwhelmed but then throw it into farthest dusty corner of your attic after some days or weeks.

People will be laughing about this a few years from now.

I don't see any more danger than in current day life with social networks.
Especially because I have already tried VR.
It's all about education.
I don't let my kids go out at anywhere and anytime without teaching them needed information, providing advice and means to avoid dangers.
It has been the same with VR. I accompanied one of my kid who started in VR network , for that purpose. No particur issue.
Anyway there won't be shadow presence so anyone like in real life can open his eyes and ears to help if harassment situation occurs.
Nothing will change would be my conclusion.

It's just Animal Crossing with VR/AR. You don't need to worry. It will all be voluntary - nobody is going to force you to use it. And it will inevitably be banned by governments, so you won't even need to worry about other people using it.

One thing that can be said of sociopaths, is that many of them are very successful in business. Our sociopath CEO (a very well known one, BTW) is too.

One of the biggest pitfalls will be that it’s associated with Zuck, one of the least likable, most sociopathic personalities in tech and THATS sating something.

So not only will I have to listen to ***** musings, but I'll have to interact with their avatar too. I don't know if I could handle that.
