Rather a sensational headline. Apple is only one of the major customers, and many other companies are being affected by this and similar shutdowns. Apple and Sony having to wait isn't going to hurt much, despite some economic ripples, especially with other, bigger companies, but there's nothing that can be done when parts aren't reaching their destinations and or structures are being damaged and people getting hurt.

Yes, and having an eathquake can disrupt the chain of self evident words, which are added to the SQL database, obviously.

That's suck, Sony is like one of the very few Japanese company that im actually like (the other one is Suzuki because of their bikes). Best wishes to them and to the people of Japan. Stay strong!

This is not the first time this has happened. Remember, during the Great East Earthquake in 2011, several critical suppliers of components for the Apple iPad 2 in the Sendai area went offline for several months, and the result was substantial shortages of the iPad 2 that wasn't fully resolved until late 2011.
