A person that had not experienced critical thinking,is the last to counter Russian propaganda, Russian know they have million of ignorant people that do not think critically
Yrral
Even though most people know, Russian was wrong, the current fail policies by the US is not working, the Russian are bombing Ukraine back to the stone age, when insecure leaders of Ukraine will not hold election,Putin is holding election in Ukraine, why is Zelensky insecure to hold his own election in Ukraine
FizzBit
Wow, will Mr Rakuten ban your misinformation? Back to the stone age? Clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about and should be labeled as misinformation
Keepyer Internetpoints
What a joke. ALL sides are telling a few porkies.
What good is it to US, the public, even if all Russian lies are somehow found and blocked? Well, that means that everything Viber reports FROM RUSSIA will be the truth, so we would be able to just ignore the Ukraine and American, etc. side and finally have a source of true information.
Well that's never gonna happen since war profits sort of depend on the public being misinformed. They don't want us having the truth cause we would revolt if everyone knew and accepted the truth.
And anyone who thinks there is good profit in keeping the public informed with the truth has not the slightest clue what is going on. Its the war profiteers with the most actual cash to pay, and so very many other companies profit directly from them. US? Even when we pay for actual paper newspapers we don't even cover expenses! Most of us pay NOTHING on the net and we get our money's worth! The value of your clicks comes from corporations, NOT YOU!

Who still uses Viber?
isabelle
It says in the article:
Viber, which launched in 2010 and was acquired by Rakuten in 2014, has a 98% market penetration rate in Ukraine. It is also popular in Russia.
isabelle
He's probably not holding elections as his country is currently being invaded by Russian barbarians. There are far more pressing matters for Ukraine to deal with.
Any Russian "elections" in Ukraine are a sham: a meaningless charade in illegally occupied territory.
Roy
No it isn't, even if you wrote it correctly.
GBR48
Viber was founded by ex-chief information officers of the Israeli Defence Forces. Make of that, what you will.
Yrral
You have insecure people having their feelings hurt, even when the truth is the answer too their problem
AlternativeOpinion
The number is for casualties which represent killed, wounded or missing in action.
Yrral
Even the Pentagon do not know, how many Russian are dead, Ukraine regular report upward to 500 dead Russian and their source say their are about 500000 Russian soldier in Ukraine by Ukraine source
AlternativeOpinion
I guess if one was to have such a jaded view of the west, one could believe this. Unlike Russia though, alternative opinions are allowed and can be easily found.
A famous saying: there are 3 sides to every story. yours, mine and the truth.
Yrral
The first casualty of war is the truth
AlternativeOpinion
So you deny that news outlets in Russia have been shut down and journalists have been arrested? is this fake news? in your opinion.
cleo
The country is fighting an existential war. A large part of the population has evacuated out of the country, another large part is internally displaced, another large part is busy trying to kill conscripts who are being forced against their will to attack their neighbors and not get killed in the process.
If Zelensky has the organisational power in that situation to hold free and fair elections, he should be using it to drive the conscripts who are being forced against their will to attack their neighbors from his country.
...which is in fact what he is doing.
There will be time for free and fair elections when Ukraine - all of Ukraine - is once more free.

In an Alternative Universe far from any truth

Very very few Japanese people use viber even though it’s owned by Rakuten ( Japanese company ). I think they are just comfortable with Line App.

It's every leader's judgement how best to support their people. Not every leader has to "go down with the ship", particularly civilian ones.
It didn't take months for the Red Cross to get in to Mariupol because the terrorists had corridors. In fact only on surrender was the Red Cross allowed in. The terrorist corridors were to torture and execution camps.
Yes, they did a fine job of erecting just enough building fronts so it didn't look like a complete bombed out wasteland as a result of Russia's actions.
Boy you are really hung up on Mariupol. While the war criminals haven't been removed from the city yet, we'll have to see what happens in time. It could end up being very close to Ukrainian artillery again.
Yes some fine facades and no real city. Even war criminal Putin couldn't find enough residents to shake hands with.
On illegally occupied territory.
Are you jealous that terrorist Russia isn't getting these dollars?
Zelenskyy is still there as is his civilian and military leadership.
Could have just made this your one on-topic comment.

US military say Ukraine on have week for their counteroffensive Google Milley Ukraine Offensive
JeffLee
My friends, family and I do. It's easy to navigate and focused on simple and straight communication. It's not bloated like Line, which tries to offer the kitchen sink.
isabelle
Do you mean "have one week?" If so, Milley said nothing of the sort. He said they probably had a month before the cold weather hinders Ukraine's counter-offensive:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66763868
Even then, the counter-offensive won't stop: it will just continue in a different/slower way, then pick up again when the weather improves:
Asked about the weather's impact, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence, Lt Gen Kyrylo Budanov, said on Saturday that "the fighting will continue one way or another".
He acknowledged it was harder to fight in cold, wet weather, but said it was a question of adjustment, not calling a halt.
Kuku
He promised to enter the Crimea by the end of spring this year. To believe him means not to have self-respect.
It's not difficult to deceive me - I'm glad to be deceived myself :) Russian classic. To the point Budanov is Russian
