I'm sure Aeon is cheaper?

If that's by Japan standards, don't hold your breath.

If the prices hold it's not too bad...not as good as some overseas places but 20 bucks for 20 Gig and $30 for unlimited on Rakuten is pretty good.

Is Rakuten's coverage on a par with the major players?

That's what I'm wondering. I've been quite happy with my coverage on Line Mobile using Softbank's network. And, I'm looking forward to seeing what the new Softbank Line brand will be offering when it goes live in March. But, I would have no problem switching to Rakuten if they have good coverage. If not, it won't matter how cheap they are, if we have no signal.

Good point. I think they'll be good in cities where the 5G coverage will probably be concentrated

imagine how did these 3 big giants rubbed peoples money when actual cost of the service can be actually just 2000yen per month. i can still remember paying 15000 a month 8 years ago.

1) have as much people as possible use your service
2) start raising the prices
3) ????
4) PROFIT!
It'll end like I remember it ended with Vodafone Softbank. Remember Softbank saying Vodafone was too expensive and they will be way cheaper?
But i'd like to be wrong in like 10 years+
