and you wonder why American supports tariffs on Chinese made goods.

New Zealand fish processing workers found their conservative government weren't quite as receptive as Trump is to American.

Hoki (fish) is a national resource in NZ, but there was a Chinese tariff, so the NZ government concentrated catch quotas in a handful of big corporates (instead of thousands of small family trawlers), the handful big guys catch the fish, ship it to China for processing, then ship the finished product back to Australia and NZ as finished packaged products. Thousands of fisherman lost their livelihood, hundreds of fish processing workers lost their jobs, but the handful of corporates got very good profits.

Unfortunately, I do not think the new Mac Pro computer is a sleek design product.

zichi, lay off your copypastas, lol

But the Austin factory, run by Flex Ltd., encountered problems finding enough skilled labor willing to work for minimum wage

There's the problem - they're making so much profit margins, yet only willing to pay minimum wage

Boycott Apples Mac Pro - could be infected with Chinese Security busting malware/hardware.

The new Mac Pro should be built and put together 100% in America, not in China. (zichi)

Are you agreeing with Trump that products should be made in America??

Are you agreeing with Trump that products should be made in America??

Are you siding with communist dictatorships like china which uses child labor, forced labor, tricks young students into giving up their education and into long work hours in factories which have iron bars in the windows to prevent workers from jumping to their deaths because of the beatings, over-work and under-pay?

Are you ok with the money that china makes from American products? The same money that is used to kill, torture and rape Tibetian nuns, Urgur muslims, cut out & sell internal organs of Falungong members?

And it's not only Trump that wants products made in America. The rest of the world also wants toys for our kids that doesn't have poisonous paint.

@zichi

All the parts for the new Apple Mac Pro will be produced in America and then shipped to China for assembly which should also be done in America which is what has happened to date.

I think you're sadly mistaken. The reason why Apple wants to shift production to China is because US industries has basically all shifted to China, from the smallest screw to the large aluminium and steel fabricators, to metal finishers. There are also supply chain issues also where Chinese supplied parts are much easier to access on a 'just in time' basis.

Unless USA starts the decoupling and start moving industries back, eventually even design and engineering will be done in China. It's a slippery slope, and as you can see with Huawei, US industries favours the cheapest supply chain (even over its own people and customers who live in USA).
