WilliBNOV. 01, 2013 - 08:13AM JST More electronic gadgets made by slave labour in the PR China and ending up as toxic waste after a short usage cycle. Hurrah!

Like the electronic gadget you typed your words from? That certainly has parts made in China? Tallk about the mud preaching to the mud...

What I really miss in iPads - whatever version - is a a detachable keyboard case with a trackpad function. Well, that would kill the whole laptop industry, including Apple's own MacBook line. I won't blink twice before opting for an iPad like that instead of a MacBook.

Yeah, I agree. Personally I would change everything I use in terms of hardware if Apple came out, or a 3rd party for that matter, with a keyboard and trackpad.

I like many things about Apple, but I really dislike the way you are forced to use iTunes and their apparent lack of disregard for allowing people to customize playlists the way you want them. You also can't transfer them back and forth, so any changes you make are lost. More than once, I've lost all my data on my iDevice. Sure I have it all backed up, but it's a real pain.

20 minutes to download that episode? My 6 year MacBook did it in 4

But I will never spend my money on a device that doesn't interact with iCloud.

Those devices don't interact with iCloud only because Apple doesn't want them to interact with iCloud. Many other cloud services like Skydrive and Google Cloud, different devices aren't restricted from accessing them.

And who knows when or if Apple would adapt other's technologies. They were reluctant USB adopters (only did because everything else uses USB nowadays). More and more devices are adopting NFC now too, not just smartphones and computers anymore (NFC tech is more than just for transferring photos and currency), but Apple is not even considering it just because they have Passbook for currency.

LostInNagoya, there are already tablets that do all that (See Asus Transformer Series). Detachable trackpad and keyboard. I'm guessing you'll claim that Apple invented that too when they eventually copy one of their competitors.

Yes, there's the Transformer devices that do that, I have read tens of articles about them. But, you know, I will never spend my money on such device. No one will claim that Apple created it, but there are millions of users like me waiting for Apple or a sister company to release one device like the Transformer keyboard, a nice thing. But I will never spend my money on a device that doesn't interact with iCloud.

The electronic gadget I am typing on is 10 years old and will be used as long as possible. And no fashionable Mac gadget geek would be caught dead seen with one. I am addressing the ridiculous market of entertainment gadgets that come out every year in a new version, or "generation".
