The technology showcased in the Pyeongchang closing ceremony was breathtaking! Definitely impressive!

There's still not an international standard for what 5G will actually be.

There is one, and what Samsung and KT developed for the Pyeongchang Olympics became the foundation of 3GPP 5G standard. Koreans rammed their 5G standard through 3GPP claiming "lack of time" and this pressure tactic worked.

It is no accident that Verizon and Sprint are launching 5G in the US with Samsung equipment.

Certainly not in the US - at least within the next two decades.

Verizon and Sprints are going with Samsung for 5G, so that they can deliver same level of service as Koreans do.
