Well, I doubt their next flagship phone will be so 'hot' and I mean that literally and figuratively.

Easy explanation and good for taking the full responsibility but... after removing the device from the equation no more fire! Probably more realistic is the smartphone design itself was faulty that made ANY battery burst. If they concluded this it's a bigger blow on reputation though.

As they make smartphones more and more powerful and thus draw more and more energy power, the batteries have to store more and more energy capacity while not making the smartphone too big. Otherwise, the smartphone will drain the battery in just a few hours.
But as they make the batteries denser, that increases the heat and possibility of overheating and fire.
Unless battery technology improves to keep pace, manufacturers have to decide that there's a limit to how much powerful they can make the smartphones.
