Lithium ferrosulfate batteries are already on the market. They are thermally stable, don't catch fire and will last through ten =s as many charge-discharge cycles as Li batteries. They are the current industry best for home battery back up.

Much is possible, yes, but most of all those attempts are far from possible realization due to cost, resource or environmental considerations and therefore in practice not at all accessible for many industrial and private consumers.
