I'd think most of the machines will be exported to countries that are active in testing.

Hospitals in Japan are already struggling, they simply cannot afford these machines. Hospitals earn money via fee-for-service point system. There are no reimbursements for capital investments. Furthermore, covid is obviously something that loses the hospital money. I cannot see the government stepping in buy these as that would increase testing, and would run counter to the government strategy.

I think 2 million yen for this technology is very cheap. Good for Shimadzu to develop this.

Hopefully we could see more testing numbers on release.
