Two comments. First, hats off to Son and the manner in which he responded to the Tohoku crisis as both a business leader and individual. He showed all of corporate Japan how it should be done by getting both his employees and customers involved in the fund-raising, as well as mkaing his own HUGE personal donation. Second, a 6.3% profit margin by a technology-driven company, with a monopoly on a popular product, would be looked down on in many countries. Here it is outstanding. Guess it shows once again how much it costs to do business here with all the various taxes and super-inflated prices for everything -- like rent for his stores.

amen herefornow. He is a remarkable man. And it was VERY smart of softbank to hop in the ship with apple. Definitely the reason why profit doubled at least. Everyone I know has a damn iPhone. seriously hoping for a good rivalphone soon.

Its obviously, doing great they got iPhone. Now, lets take the iPhone away from softbank, and give it to Docomo and KDDI au. softbank profits will go down. Thats will be healthy market and competition. But I guess softbank is only monopoly and its dirty business.
