Well, even though I came across a naysayer a couple years back regarding this, it looks like SpaceX will finally launch American astronauts from American soil! And sure, to be fair to them, it took a lot longer than I expected, but hey, at least it’s going to get done!

Let me put it this way. A negative attitude, like what too many people have nowadays, would not even have motivated Elon Musk in the rest, to even create SpaceX, let alone be in this position. Same thing with Boeing, as well as even NASA itself.

But despite the setbacks, take a look at with all these companies in organizations have done. Yeah, that’s why I try to keep a positive attitude, even the face of difficult negative situations.

Naysayers are unimaginative killjoys. They sad man would never learn to fly, let alone go to space.

Q. How is it that Elon Musk is doing what NASA can't do ?

Perhaps this is a question for all Government Organisations... what's holding them back, that isn't holding back the Entrepreneurs ? Fix that, and perhaps, you have a Fixed Government.

It’s silly to compare an entrepreneur with a government. Business and government are not equivalent, as so many on the right are wont to believe.

@Strangerland - I should have rephrased that to Private Business and Government funded Businesses.

The latter receives our Taxes, the former does not.

The latter may be able to try out new and exciting / experimental things which cost a lot to develop - but then... how is it that a Lean organisation such a Elon's is able to beat them at their own game ?

My point is that Government Organisations need to become more aggressive towards meeting goals within fixed budgets rather than being a sink hole for endless streams of Cash without any returns - which as we all know enables Corruption.

I can understand Trump eulogizing Musk in this context recently...

Though, say NASA is closed down, and we're left to the private Companies to provide these services, then the prices can be hiked and we're left at the mercy of those said Private organisations.

Government Organisations need to be run like Private organisations and not seen as a retirement place for people to doss around in. Run them more effectively, and challengingly, and have in the end a more effective Government ?
