How about dealing with the actually underlying issue of so many "sleepy" workers.... instead of waisting time developing unnecessary technology... I'd swear if they invested as much time and effort into their actual workers health it would be unbelievable how amazing the results would be. But no, of course not..... having a computer lowering the temperature is a better option.........

People require sleep. Is the objective to increase karoshi? The situation of concern is backwards

How cold of them to do such a thing (pun intended). Why don't they just ease off the working hours instead so that people can actually live out their lives for a change?

How about a technology that detects when an employee is getting sleepy, so it alerts them to go to a company nap room for a 20 minute nap break, which has been proven to increase employee health and productivity?

wow they post these news thinking they should be applauded for developing a torture device to pressure already abused workers even more...unbelievable...!

In the US, marketers usually feel need to “manufacture consent” from the public technologies meant for insidious purposes by first selling them on a possible positive use of the new technology. (for ex look at how driverless cars are being marketed, or any idea of Elon Musk).
I’m surprised the manufacturers of this didn’t, for example, promote the idea of using a cold blast of air to remind overworked staff to go home on time to their families.
I guess this isn’t necessary in Japan where the idea of tech being anything other than progressive and good doesn’t seem to exist,

I use a similar technique teaching in high school. During the summer I turn the aircon down to as chilly temp as I can. The students complain it’s too cold, but it stops them going to sleep. I do the same thing in winter. I walk into a toasty warm classroom with all their cute little heads resting in their desks and open all the windows. It wakes them up very quickly. :D

I encourage my staff to have a nap if they need one. I have one most days myself. I work way better after that.

I need this in my office!

Make better legislation on labor conditions and introduce the power nap instead of investing in this kind of equipment.
