Honestly, I can't stand social games. Give me Final Fantasy or Zelda any day..

Mojang was offering server space to run private Minecraft worlds. That's where a continual revenue stream can be had.

There are other ways to monetize a game. They bought Minecraft to increase the sales of their phones and other devices, for example.

Minecraft is loved by children, including my own. However, it is a one-off purchase after which you can use it forever, so there is no continued revenue stream. Many or most of those who would ever purchase it have already done so. The only way Microsoft can get money out of this is to start some kind of monthly subsription service to get an income stream. They will do this and destroy the game loved by millions.

Goodbye Minecraft! It was a fun time as long as it lasted. Microsift buys Mojang for 2.5 billion while at the same time lays off about 18000 employees! Hypocrites! TGS?? Aah, you are talking g about the CHGS... The cattle herding game show! This is what it should be properly called since several years.
